About Pollen Street Social

Pollen Street Social opened in April 2011, and was awarded a Michelin star within just six months , alongside 5 AA Rosettes and no.4 in The Good Food Guide’s best UK restaurants. The restaurant delivers an informal and social setting, where the surroundings are as vibrant as the food.


Pollen Street Social was opened by Michelin-starred chef Jason Atherton and is run by Jason and head chef Dale Bainbridge. The front of house team is managed by Roberto Filippelli and includes sommelier Agnieszka Swiecka.


We’re only as good as our ingredients. That’s why at Pollen Street Social we nurture long-term relationships with suppliers from across Britain to get the best produce, from Colchester crab to Buccleuch beef.


Pollen Street Social is casual and customer-orientated in its attitudes – a contemporary bistro offering relaxed and informal fine dining. Pollen Street Social houses a restaurant, bar, dessert bar and private dining room

The restaurant’s private dining room doubles up as a sommelier’s room, with built-in spittoons for tastings as well as views through to the development kitchen.
Capacity: up to 12 guests

Pollen Street Social is available for exclusive hire of the restaurant and bar, beginning with drinks and canapés in the bar, before moving through to the restaurant.
Capacity: up to 70 guests

We also offer off-site catering for those who wish to recreate the Pollen Street Social experience at a location of their choice.

Our reservations lines are open 9am and 7pm,
Monday – Friday, and 9am – 6pm on Saturday.

Please note, last orders at lunch for the tasting menu are at 2.30pm. If your reservation is at this time and you wish to have the tasting menu please make us aware either prior to your arrival or as soon as you sit down at your table.

To reserve a table of 7 or more, please contact our reservations team directly. Please note we require credit card details to secure bookings of 4 or more in the restaurant.

Cancellations for tables of 4 or more guests will need to be made in writing by emailing: with advance notification of at least 24 hours; otherwise a fee of £40 per person will be applicable.

Head Chef

Dale began his career at the Dakota Nottingham Hotel under its Chef Director Roy Brett. After spending a year at Macdonald Linden Hall Golf & Country Club, Northumberland, he moved to Crathorne Hall Hotel in North Yorkshire, a recipient of four stars from the AA and recognised as one of the top 200 hotels in the UK. He then went to work for award-winning chef Richard Corrigan at his eponymous Corrigan’s Mayfair restaurant. Dale joined Pollen Street Social as sous chef in 2013 and worked his way up to head chef in 2015.


Chef Patron

Jason Atherton started out working alongside great chefs including Pierre Koffmann, Marco Pierre White, Nico Ladenis and Ferran Adria at el Bulli, before joining the Gordon Ramsay Holdings in 2001 and launching ‘Maze’, first in London and then another five globally. Jason opened ‘Pollen Street Social’ in April 2011 and now runs 16 restaurants internationally. Jason is married to Irha Atherton who works alongside him as co-director at The Social Company. Irha also runs the head office in Soho, London.


Head Sommelier

Originally from Poland, Agnieszka initially worked in finance for Deutsche Bank, before she followed her love of wine and began training to be a sommelier. She moved to London in 2008 and learned her craft whilst working for a number of different wine bars and restaurants, including El Vino, Tamarai and Wyndham Grand Hotel. She joined Pollen Street Social as junior sommelier in 2012, promoted to head sommelier in 2016.
